Control Engineering | Young Engineer Blazing Trails In Industry
MADISON – September 14, 2018 – Control Engineering and Plant Engineering have collectively named Jon Breen, founder, Breen Machine Automation Services, a 2018 Engineering Leader Under 40. The Engineering Leaders Under 40 program recognizes manufacturing professionals under the age of 40 who are making a significant contribution to the control engineering field.
“I’m honored to be among those selected for this prestigious award,” Breen said. “It’s important to find ways to empower my generation and future generations to develop the next set of manufacturing professionals that will carry the torch.”
Breen received his undergraduate degree in manufacturing engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 2009, and his masters degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2011. Breen’s professional experience encompasses teaching at tech schools and universities, and working for various manufacturers, OEMs, and engineers across the world, before starting his own company three years ago.
“My goal is to help people and organizations grow and succeed,” Breen said. “I’ve been able to do that by sharing my automation expertise, sometimes as an engineer and sometimes as an advisor or teacher. I’m always looking for ways to make industry professional’s jobs easier and more efficient.”
Breen’s company, Breen Machine Automation Services, provides a variety of services to the manufacturing industry including engineering, consulting, training, and programming. As part of Breen’s training services he has developed virtual courses to share real-world skills with people in industry.
“I condense years of industry experience into something that’s usable by everyone,” Breen said. “I help others be more confident and successful with their work – and, to me, that is what really matters.”
Breen will be among 30 award recipients that will be recognized at an event in Chicago in Spring 2019.
