Job description:
This position is responsible for designing, improving, programming, and installing control systems for industrial automation in an effective, efficient, and safe way. Some travel to customer sites is expected to troubleshoot, commission, program, wire, and install.

You’ll be joining our people-focused industrial automation team that believes automation’s purpose is serving human needs – improving the quality of life, easing work, and improving safety. This is a continual pursuit for us.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and improve programs for various controls systems to include PLCs, HMIs, PCs, inspection/vision systems, robotic systems using a wide variety of manufacturer brands
- Design controls systems from scratch and update existing controls systems for an almost infinite variety of industries to include food, medical, consumer goods, and packaging
- Design, create, and update electrical drawings
- Design and update safety systems
- Ability and willingness to travel 30% of the time
What you’ll need:
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong programming background is required
- Ability to troubleshoot complex automation systems including programming, mechanical, and pneumatic components
- Exceptional skills in verbal, written, and visual communication to effectively communicate with team members and business partners
- The ability to easily fit into a wide variety of teams
- Willingness to work as required to meet schedules
- A desire to make the world a better place (not as cheesy as it sounds)
Schedule: Flexibility that goes both ways. If deadlines and project needs are met, you generally work when you want – take time off or work in the middle of the night as you like. Sometimes projects or business functions require specific schedules, overtime, weekend work.
Work Location: Primarily at home office and at customer sites as needed (mostly Southern Wisconsin and occasionally around the world).
